A tale to be heard (Ages 8-10)

Saturday 22 February, Saturday 15 & 22 March 2025, 10:30 - 12:30
Voress Museum-A tale to be heard (Ages 8-10)

A playful exploration of words and music for children (Ages 8-10)

On Saturday morning, we take a trip to the museum! There, paintings and sculptures come to life before our eyes: mysterious gentlemen in hats, a dog talking to its owner, a blue man, and many more surprises.

With the museum’s artworks as our protagonists, we create a fantastic story together, where everyone takes on a role. Then, using recyclable materials, we build improvised “musical instruments” to discover and recreate the sounds hidden within our story. Through a blend of music and theatrical play, we retell our story using sounds—transforming it into a unique musical piece crafted entirely by us!

Musical play is at the heart of this workshop, along with an introduction to the tools of musical improvisation. We experiment with musical and extra-musical ideas, collaborate as a team, and let our imagination run free, interacting and drawing inspiration from the museum’s artworks.
